Mugs

  • All pottery is hand-thrown. Individually decorated and glazed.  Surface designs are painted with velvet underglaze either directly onto the piece or reverse painted and transferred to a leather hard mug that has a base slip color.  Designs are then subtracted from the surface with various tools, carving away to enhance the painting & showcase the raw clay.  
  • All mugs are between 3.5’’- 4.5’’ tall and hold between 8 and 12 ounces of liquid. 
CLAY BODY:
  • Iron range red stoneware - orange-red in color
  • Speckled Buff Stoneware: cream in color with brown/black speckles throughout
  • Gunflint Stoneware: deep brown in color.
GLAZE: Velvet Underglaze. Cone 5/6, food safe glaze, AP label
